Keller Williams New York City Celebrates RED Day!

RED DAY 2011 / KELLER WILLIAMS NYC

This past Thursday we celebrated RED Day a Keller Williams’ annual initiative to give back to our communities.

Keller Williams designated the second Thursday of May as RED Day in honor of Mo Anderson, Vice Chairman. Mo’s birthday is always at or around RED Day and she’s considered the “heart and beloved” leader of Keller Williams Realty. We couldn’t agree more! Her wonderful spirit, compassion and enormous contributions is the impetus for this special Keller Williams Day.

A heartfelt thank you from Keller Williams New York City, Mo!

We chose as our first project, a 25-year-old organization that provides meals to low-income families.

Keller Williams New York City did just that with our first campaign. Collaborating with City Harvest, a Manhattan-based not-for-profit organization that delivers food to more than 800 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and community food programs in New York, our associates and team members really came through!

Our lobby was packed full of non-perishable foodstuffs and the City Harvest trucks picked up our donations! We also presented a check to Jilly Stephens, Executive Director of City Harvest for their annual fundraising program, Skip Lunch Fight Hunger Together. The program is city-wide and the organization asks New Yorkers to donate what they’d spend on lunch to feed the hungry.

I’m very proud of my team–their hard work, donations and efforts helped make Keller Williams RED Day 2011 a phenomenal success.

Last year during RED Day 2010, KW’s associates, friends and families contributed more than 165,000 hours of community service–in one day! We expect those numbers to be even bigger this year and we’re honored to be a part of this extraordinary program that proves that individuals coming together to work as a team can positively impact the lives of so many.

Keller Williams New York City is proud to support City Harvest, an organization that feeds 300,000 New Yorkers in need each week. Thanks Keller Williams New York City team, friends and associates who participated and thanks City Harvest for providing such a great program for New Yorkers!
